Playa Coyote

A fantastic place to stay. Drive south on Mex 1 after leaving Mulege, you will pass a couple of beaches, after a while the road is winding down and you'll see an old beaten up and closed gate of Playa Coyote Beach Resort & RV park, slow down, a little after that a gravel turn off to the left will take you to a sign, difficult to see in the bushes "Playa Coyote" take a right turn in the trees follow the path. If it is high tide there is a little bit of sea that covers the road but drivable even in an RV or with a motorbike.

Pick a place at the beach. There are pit toilets no other amenities though. ME$ 80 per nite, will be collected. Only if you get a receipt you are paying to the right person.

A Road with No Name

Had about everything ready to cook chinese sweet & sour for dinner, but than decided to go and eat out anyway.

Topless Blondes

Barbie just wanted to get tained, topless nontheless. She did not wanna use any sun-blocker. "Blondes get tained faster..." she said. Now, mmh, now Barbie is - Toast.

But she keeps on smiling.

Mulegé, Cuesta Real

Hotel Cuesta Real, easy to find just a little south of town to the left off Mex 1. Very nice place, Pepe, el jefe is more after making his guests happy than after the money. "How much do you want to pay?" Negotiating a good price is effortless and no stress, even if you consider yourself as not really the negotiating type. The set up is nice, clean toilet and shower, a swimming pool, just a very peaceful relaxed place. About 20 minutes walking distance from the city, turn around, leave the Cuesta Real through the back entrance and walk along the river, pass by a couple of houses, when you pass the water selling place you're almost there.

The coolest camping set up

In Mulegé at the hotel Cuesta Real, which has a little campground as well, I meet Richard. He has the coolest camping set up. His Willy's Jeep is a beautifully aged 1963 model with the drive train of a Jeep Wagoneer from the 70ties. His amazing Airstream trailer is a 1958 model. He has redesigned and redone the interior of the Airstream in a very cool spacey kind of way. The entrance door is modified as well and allows to even carry his Honda 125, of course a nicely aged, 70ties, motorbike inside. His dog Moose is guarding the antiques so no-one would get after the roughly 50 year old classics.
