Driving at Night?

Here is why it is better not to drive at night in Central America.

Any questions?

Perhaps a little old fashioned...

...to get a kiss on the hand.

What do you think?

This is what I got exactly two years ago in Guatemala at Semuc Champey.

And a fishy one on top of it.

Great Pacific Garbage Patch

I can not really judge what is true and what is not about all that has been posted and written about the garbage that is building up to huge patches in our oceans. What I do know and have prove for, is that the beaches are covered with trash, mainly plastic trash.

Please help by spending a second thought whether you really need that plasic bag that is offered to you tomorrow when shopping. Wouldn't your food look much better in real plates at your pool party rather than using through away plastic dishes?

Find many conserning pictures about what I found at the beaches of the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of California, the Gulf of Alaska and in the Caribean Sea HERE.

Check what Wikipedia is saying about the subject HERE.

Click here if you would like to see my more detailed post in german with many links to reports and media voices to the garbage patches in our oceans.

HERE you can find an official report of the UNEP.

Thank you for helping to minimize the trash in our Oceans.

Twin Bed RV

I am pretty happy with my Toyota, but the bed size of this RV -  for, I would say two couples - not bad! Just wait with the action until it's dark on your campground.

Finca Ixobel - A perfect Stop in Guatemala

No matter whether you camp, backpack, wish to rent a bungalow or just want to hang a hammock for the night, Finca Ixobel, South of Poptun on your way from or to Tikal in Peten will be a worth while stop.

First of all, it is peaceful.

Relaxed.

It has a large natural swimming pool with fish instead of chemicals in it.

Prices are more than fair and the food that is offered and comes from the home grown organic farm is awasome. Definitely worth a stop.

the blue truck

Since month over month you seem to like the gallery about the transformation of an old Toyota Land Cruiser to my home the most and I get more clicks on those pictures than on any others, I have started a second blue truck gallery. Here you will find nothing but pictures of the blue truck on the road, blue truck in the mud, blue truck in the desert, blue truck on the highway, blue truck, blue truck, blue truck... until you can't see it anymore. - Have fun!

80'000 Kilometers and going

There is a new Photo Gallery on-line. Ever since I left the house of my friends in New Jersey in October 2010, I have taken a picture, just a straight shot out of the windshield, when the odometer hit another one thousand kilometers.

No matter whether night or day...

...dry or...

...cold,

...wet or...

...rainy. Just every 1'000 k's I hit the shutter, by now 80 times and hopefully there will be many more pictures to enlarge the gallery.

Enjoy it!
