And I always thought...

...my truck was fairly big...

...but I knew it was not, when about two weeks before that picture, I parked it at the airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico and it fitted perfectly, actually with some left over space into the parking spot that was assigned to "compacts only". Big is beautiful. Doesn't always need to be Texas.

I have just been a couple of days in Arizona, but for "motoerheads" truely interesting territory. Trucks, Jeeps, all kind of 4 wheel drive vehicles or even good old on the original beetle based desert rats running around on the streets here.

And - "happy-camper" weather, definitily during the days anyways, might drop below 30°F at nights easily.

Five Guys

Sure not healthier than at your regular Burger place, but hell that was good. I had lunch today in Tuscon, Arizona at "Five Guys Burger & Fries".

Of course, of course, a lot of fat, a lot of fried, a lot of sticky tables, chairs and greasy fingers, a lot of fat people - but good, good food. I'll cook tomorrow again, olive oil and fresh vegies - but for today... mmmh sinful, unhealthy good. And they are doing all behind a big glass window while you watch them. They stick exactly those toppings in exactly your burger, just the way you ordered. There was a sign with the farm where today's patatos were coming from, true or not, don't know, but sure well done.

And since I am kind of a tourist and Burgers & Fries are as American as the Grand Canyon, the State of Liberty, the Golden Gate or Texas & guns, I guess I am excused as just being sight seeing & eating.

Just add 'em up...

Sometimes the signals in the US are a little difficult to get for a Swiss guy, I usually just add them up - 55 mph, works perfectly fine with me.

You know it's time to go South when...

...fallen trees and snow is blocking your way to head towards warmer destinations.

The other day in the Gila National Forest, it sounded kind of odd when I was turning around in my sleeping bag for the first time in the morning. As I got out of the nicely heated truck I had prove, there is something wrong in this happy camper's world.

Result: Tuscon Arizona now.

Should I be concerned?

A sign in "near" ghost town of Ancho, New Mexico. I did not find a living soul and as the place looked I was kind of glad no living or even worse, dead soul found me neither.

Dead End...

...no kidding.

It wasn't me!

What is that Easter Bunny doing on the road on March 1, anyways? - Sorry, WAS doing on the road...
