Sea Freight-Shipping

As a regular reader of the blue truck blog, you know that I am currently in process of getting my shipping from Veracruz to Mexico organized. Once I have everything in line and my truck is loaded and sailing South I will summarize the process for those of you wanting to do the same or similar while beeing roadies between Central and South America.

Meanwhile, should you have any questions or being in process of doing exactly the same right now, getting ready to ship your vehicle: Contact me with a comment to this blog post for more information prior to the "Tipps & Tricks" blog post about seafright shippment.

Great Pacific Garbage Patch

I can not really judge what is true and what is not about all that has been posted and written about the garbage that is building up to huge patches in our oceans. What I do know and have prove for, is that the beaches are covered with trash, mainly plastic trash.

Please help by spending a second thought whether you really need that plasic bag that is offered to you tomorrow when shopping. Wouldn't your food look much better in real plates at your pool party rather than using through away plastic dishes?

Find many conserning pictures about what I found at the beaches of the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf of California, the Gulf of Alaska and in the Caribean Sea HERE.

Check what Wikipedia is saying about the subject HERE.

Click here if you would like to see my more detailed post in german with many links to reports and media voices to the garbage patches in our oceans.

HERE you can find an official report of the UNEP.

Thank you for helping to minimize the trash in our Oceans.

La Carrera Panamericana

Mexico's La Carrera Panamericana is one of the world's hardest Rally's for classic cars. Yesterday it stopped in the City of Guanajuato. So did I. Check out the following pictures to get a first impression...

Did you like all the curves...

...of those classic cars?

Than you can find a whole series of pictures in my new photo gallery "La Carrera Panamericana" or...

...you might want to visit my german Blog for another series of first impression pictures.

Have fun!

Veracruz - Cartagena: Any Idea?

Finally the water is getting too deep even for the blue truck with it's snorkel. I am currently researching and looking...

...for a ride. But actually, since it goes through pretty deep water not a ride like that. And...

...flying might not really be an option....

...my own boat is kind of too small to carry the blue truck.

Therefore I am currently putting my nose into the world wide web to find a...
...boat ride from Veracruz in Mexico to Cartagena in Colombia.

The blue trucks fits into a standard 20' container or can travel...
...on a RoRo (roll on - roll off) vessel but it...
...can't swimm all by himself.

So if you have done that trip before, you can be my Angel. Send the information you have available on it, such as agents you used, things that were easy are less important than those that weren't.

Thank You.

VERACRUZ (Mexico) - CARTAGENA (Colombia)

Thank you very much for your help, looking forward to hearing about your trip!

GRACIAS!

Museo de las Momias

O.k. I know, I have posted about the fascinating Museo de las Momias in the Mexican city of Guanajuato before. Click here to read that earlier post. But just before I flew to Switzerland and travelled for a while with my friend Markus, we have visited again.

Pretty spooky place, no age limit by the way, so you can take your kids there for a Sunday afternoon. Or just watch the pictures here and don't let your kids know and spare yourselfs from caring for them at night when they have nightmares. - Maybe know your kids have to come and care for you next night?

No matter whether small...

...or tall...

...there is a little bit of...

...all.

"I was not even born, when mama and I passed away"

"Hey why were you guys all burried in socks and I have to stand here all bare feet?

RIP...

...or maybe not so much in peace?

The place for resupply.

The Museo de las Momias is underneath the cementry where the momias come from.
